So, like many fans of the band The Decemberist, I was excited when I found out the band would be performing at least two days in my city. One day would be dedicated to all of their long songs [This day being called the Long of It] and the next being dedicated to all of the short songs [The short of it].
The Dates I was going to be attending were November 29 and 30th at the Wiltern in Los Angeles. I could hardly wait to hear all of my favorite songs, plus some.
And then today at roughly 2:30 the worst news was delivered in the form of an email from the Decemberists.

Our deepest apologies but at this time no plans are being made to reschedule the dates. Ticket holders should seek refunds at point of purchase.

The whole tour has been canceled, because one of the members in the band is extremely unwell. And while there is no true fan that would begrudge the band for ending their tour because of extreme health reasons, there is still a supreme disappointment felt.

That is a huge bummer! I've been in the same situation before and like you said, you feel sorry someone's sick, but when you've been looking forward to a show for a long time it just hurts when its cancelled.
