Murder Date Posted: 8/28/2007 9:14:49 AM Bulletin Number: 07-46 DR Number: 07-15025 Announcement: August 27, 2007 at 5:45 pm, the Glendale Police Department received 911 calls in regards to a stabbing. Officers responded to 123 W. Windsor and upon arrival found a 32-year-old female victim of a knife wounds. Witnesses detained the 23-year-old male suspect until the police arrived. The female was transported to Los Angeles County Hospital in critical condition by Glendale Fire Paramedics. She later died from the stabbing inflicted by the suspect later identified as Hector Marroquin. The investigation has revealed that the suspect and the victim did not know each other. The attack was unprovoked. It appears that the suspect was upset that the victim did not acknowledge her. The suspect was identified as Hector Marroquin, a 23-year-old Glendale transient. Hector Marroquin remains in custody and will be arraigned on August 29, 2007 at Pasadena Superior Court Division 1.The victim was identified as Joanne Sarkis 32 years old, resident of Glendale. On August 29, 2007, the Los Angeles District Attorneys Office has filed murder charges with special circumstances against Hector Marroquin.
