What city is the current Live Music Capital of America?

it's an open question. I'd guess that the knee jerk reaction is Austin. People love to rave about Austin and it is a cool place. People there do support live music in a way that they don't in some other towns.

In my touring experience, there are VERY few towns in the USA that are 4 or 5 night a week towns. Most town, even big ones, are Friday and Saturday night towns. The people just won't turn out on other nights unless Bruce Springsteen comes to town.

Of course, college towns always compete. Lots of kids with money and free time. Here are some suggestions....What do you think is the best live music city in America?
