it's an open question. I'd guess that the knee jerk reaction is Austin. People love to rave about Austin and it is a cool place. People there do support live music in a way that they don't in some other towns.In my touring experience, there are VERY few towns in the USA that are 4 or 5 night a week towns. Hmmmm....how to share this in the best light. Was invited to play at a new festival in San Marcos Texas, The World United Music Festival, which was founded by the Roots Music Association. I came to town with my guitarist Larry Marciano to play a couple shows and do this festival. The scope of this thing was impressive. 150 bands. 8 stages. 20 acres. 3 Days of Music. We were very excited.

I have not been what you call a "life long fan" of Lee Ann Womack. Just not my cup of tea. but the record she did a couple years back, "There's More Where That Came From" was so good it makes my teeth hurt. The production. The songs. Her voice. I love every note of it. It also won a couple big prizes. and the latest..."Call Me Crazy" is dark and boozy, and has at least one killer tune, "Last Call"
