An irresistible trip-hop groove: Trolle//Siebenhaar's 'Sweet Dogs' single.

Posted about 1 year ago
  • Artist:
    Ane Trolle & Martin Siebenhaar
  • Album:
    Sweet Dogs
  • Track:
Sweet Dogs; Trentemoller Moan video ft. Ane Trolle
According to Boom! Records, the Trolle Siebenhaar single, 'Sweet Dogs' quickly rose to the top of the national Danish airplay chart after its iTunes November 2006 issue, and sold gold by January 2007. A 'Sweet Dogs' Remix package (with remixes by Martin Buttrich and Groove Rebels) was released last month in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.Although Ane Trolle and Martin 'Pato' Siebenhaar are both established talents on the Danish music scene, 'Sweet Dogs' is the duo's first collaborative effort. It is an irresistibly fresh, and 'positively inspired' trip hop groove that has become one of my favourite summer listens. 1. Girlcrawl says The official Trentemoller Moan video/single from album 'The Last Resort' album featuring vocals by Ane Trolle - the video is in memory of Laika (1957), the first living creature to enter orbit!

  2. soulrocket says love "sweet dogs", very very nice song. i cant believe there are 12 plays & nobody has commented yet. prolly the best track i heard this month. the video is fun too, specially because we are frying eggs on the pavement here. i played sweet dogs twice, it is that catchy.

  3. Girlcrawl says soulrocket - you're a doll, and thanks for the generous comment - if this is one of the best tracks you've heard this month then I'm flattered because you have superb musical tastes. I adore the 'Sweet Dogs' track, and agree that it's an infectiously catchy 'lil groove; glad that you enjoy as well! Frying eggs on the pavement aye? It's been quite warm here, but now a small thuderstorm is approaching shore so the temperature may be considerably milder afterwards. Cheers pal :-)

  5. Augusts1 says Love both songs. Trolle's voice sounds really familiar to me on 'Sweet Dogs'(maybe it's that it sounds like Beth Gibbons of Portishead). The 2nd song sounds so much like a Gus Gus song it's amazing. Love that vid too, it's pretty funny w/making the dog look like it's singing(poor dog goes through alot in that vid, lol). Both songs are fun, not heard of the group, so thanks for posting GC.

  6. soulrocket says actually after a 3rd listen it is my fave song this month. i located it & also a cds with 4 remixes i still need to listen to. sometimes we get hot winds that come from africa and then the weather gets "siesta-like". today it was like that. we are used to it thought, but euro-tourists look kind of red-faced as if they cant breath properly, heh. enjoy the storm, cynthia :-)

  8. Marigold says Hey! Dang mog...I was just skimming through the most current mogs and noticed I have missed a lot of stuff my favorite moggers are posting. This would fall into that catagory. I never got an email that you posted something Girlcrawl. When I saw your post it was kind the way one feels when you are scanning the bargin bin at the cd store and you score a great disc! You grab it all quick and look both ways to make sure nobody heard you yelp for joy. ...anyways. Onto my thoughts on this track. This is great. I like a lot. Very catchy, I love the soulful vocals. It all pulls together nice with a great funky beat that is both electronic and acoustic at the same time oooooooh so nice. I might not be as "geeked" as soulrocket on this one...maybe you could consider me geeked on this - 1. Does that make sense? Great reccomendation. I am loving it. off to their myspace to get some myspace lovin...

  11. Augusts1 says Cool, thanks Soul. I like that song & her voice. I can see the comparison. Kinda reminds me of Feist in some of her phrasing too.

  14. Girlcrawl says Well hello soulrocket and Augusts1 – Should not have disconnected the laptop because it appears you guys have been having a party of sorts in my absence :-) Remember the ‘small thunderstorm’ I spoke of – was actually an entire stormfront that rather bashed here throughout the evening; quite lovely in a mildly frightening way. Augusts1 – thanks so much for giving T//S a listen, and viewing the video (the poor dog does endure alot); glad that you enjoyed, and appreciate the comment – Ane’s voice at times reminds me of Beth Gibbons’ voice as well which is an excellent thing in my book. Marigold – was wondering where you were (not that you’re obligated to drop over, but always glad when you do). I’ve received very few post notices the last few days, so finally set about to look at my fave mogster sites, and discovered most had posted. It appears MOG is better today as I actually had numerous post notifications in the box this morning. Enjoyed the ‘bargain bin’ analogy, and think I heard that joyful ‘yelp’! Excellent description of the music, and agree that Ane has ‘soulful’ vocals. Glad that you enjoyed the trip-hop groove, and shall consider you ‘geeked’ dearie. Thanks as ever for the enthusiasm! soulrocket – I have an Angela McCluskey cd, and you are spot-on…the two have strong vocal similarities – loved the track you posted! Am familiar with those ‘siesta’ like African winds, and the Euro-tourist statement caused me to laugh as it’s a very accurate assessment. Did enjoy the stormy evening actually, even though the lightening became quite intense; poor Isabella (the pup) was distraught, and she rarely exhibits any sort of reaction to anything being that she’s an extremely laid-back kind of gal (not to mention the laziest pup on these here shores) – sometimes check her pulse just to verify that she’s still breathing! You guys carry on with the conversation, and thanks for the lively chatter! Cheers.
