WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Christian Marclay art show SF tonight

Posted about 1 year ago
Sound artist/turntablist (in the broadest sense of the word) is known for video compositions but this is the first art show I have heard of from him.Check out images here, and read Fraenkel Gallery's description. The opening is tonight at 6 pm"Stereo." Photographs by Christian Marclay. Runs through June 28. 10:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Tues.-Fri., 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sat. 49 Geary St. (415) 981-2661."Since the early 1980s, Christian Marclay has explored the visualization of sound and music through his sculpture, photography and mixed media-based works. As a visual artist who also works as a musician (Marclay pioneered the use of a turntable as a musical instrument in the late 1970s), the relationship between the audible and the visual and the incongruencies existing between the two remain the driving force of his work. The approximately twenty-five works included in Stereo span the artists's entire career."
