I played a show with this band last night. It was totally awesome for several reasons.1. Lots of people showed up!2. In addition to being charming and polite, The Burning Hell are also a tight, compelling and hillarious band.3. And it was awesome! They remind me of The Magnetic Fields. I like this song. I also liked the one they sang about being burried naked with a ukulele.

Stevie Wonder is the king of this sort of thing, but Cat Stevens achieves a similar level of greatness with this shameless ode to just being yourself. I love this song and I don't care who knows it!

This is a song I wrote for my friend Christopher's birthday. I was suddenly inspired by the two lines he sometimes sings from this fake musical show thing he has in his head. I find the results totally hilarious!I thought it would be fun if other people wrote famous tramp songs and we could have a real/fake compilation.

Okay! The last 30 seconds of this song sound exactly like a Stereolab song. I don't know which one. But it's out there. They are the same song. Probably.Enjoy!

I didn't even try to download it. Anyway! It is lovely. I've been singing this song with "Sara Marreiros":http://www.saramarreiros.com for about a year. It's great to hear the original. We are much more subdued

Okay! I just mailed the final Elephant Island mixes to Nashville for mastering this morning! I am exhausted and excited. Jim Demain at Yes Master is going to work on them. He did Andrew Bird's last album, which is truly great. You can hear a couple of the unmastered songs at www.myspace.com/elephantislandvictoria.I haven't had much time to listen to anything else lately, but this morning Richar...
