Contrary to the way they sound (somewhat British, at least in the beginning), the Beau Brummels were actually an American group. They were the first to answer the British Invasion, predated the Byrds in the annals of folk rock and anticipated much of the melodic elements later used by Northern California psychedelic bands of the late 60's and early 70's. And, best of all, they were name-checked on The Flintstones as the Beau Brummelstones. This one is from Bradley's Barn, a seminal country/rock they recorded in Nashville under the guidance of legendary producer Owen Bradley.

I'm pretty sure I saw a relatively new release from Sal Valentino last summer in a now-closed record store. Damn, why didn't I buy it when I had the chance? Bradley's Barn was way ahead of its time, I think the Beus got discouraged and went their separate ways after making it.
