Sinatra and Politics

Posted over 3 years ago

One constant in Frank Sinatra's political life was his life-long role as a civil rights advocate. But his early party affiliation as a Democrat changed with age to allegiance to the Republican party. It's there I diverge from Mr. S., with elation over the election of Barack Obama. I proudly cast my vote for: The man, who's articulate, thoughtful and sensitive. . .for the platform, which aspires to bring us fairness and unity, diplomacy not war, and a much needed rise in America's standing in the world, and for The campaign, which was flawlessly executed, and took the high road in every way. Truly a new day awaits! From M.A. via MOG and http://www.FrankTribute.com ...

I imagine that F.S. might have have become disgusted with G.W. Bush. Although he supported Republicans loyally after about 193, it would be within the realms of possibility that Frank would have been as offended at GW's arrogance and destruction of America as we are and would have voted for Obama as did many Republican friends of mine.

    Just a thought!

    Yours sincerely,
