Day of the Dead Music: Comala

Posted over 3 years ago

My soundtrack for Halloween -- Mexican composer Jorge Reyes evokes Day of the Dead imagery: altars, flowers, candles, candy skulls and skeletons, Aztec deities and Jaguar Gods. Employing Pre-Columbian instruments and chants, highly atmospheric and cinematic -- if Grim Fandango were a movie, this would be the sountrack for it.

I am planning to try and go to Mexico for the Day of the Dead next year, sigh.

Can we have a sonical taste of what you so wonderfully describe? :)

Thank you very much! It is everything you made me think it would be. And a very visual song, too, very impressive.

    Happy Halloween!
