The Obama Inaugaration (Edited Version)

Posted about 3 years ago

I thought there was a slight disconnect between President Obama's serious speech and the celebratory atmosphere in the crowd.

The Speech:

The Crowd:

My Soundtrack to the Inauguration:

Bishop Lamont's "Grow Up" is my favorite hip hop track of 2008. I've been listening to it a lot lately. I think it captures perfectly the "pull up your pants" mood sweeping across America, and consequently, the rest of the world. Just as importantly, courtesy of Dr Dre, it's got a damn good beat.

I wish I owned a magazine. I would give you a whole page (maybe two if you trash-talked the cross-eyed one often) to play!

    Love your work! :)

And the song is indeed very appropriate and smooooth.

If we're in deep shit, don't we need a plumber instead of a builder?

In Iraq.  Seriously.  You can't make this shit up.  Someone sent him as an "embedded journalist".  His reaction, "Journalists shouldn't be embedded with troops!"  What insight!

No, if they're embedded they'll write about what they see. One reason the Israelis woldn't let journalists into Gaza while they pounded it.

I have launched your cartoon into the email timewaster's realm. I do believe you are on the way to a Pulitzer.

Actually, I just thought it was funny that once he was embedded, it sounds like, "holy shit, this is dangerous, get me out of here."  Though I do disagree with embedded journalists, I see it more of a way for the pentagon to control the news of the war, as well.

Not to worry. Based on his supporters' expectations, it shouldn't take the President more than a couple of weeks to sort out the economy.
