This album has not left my player in months and now that I have the internet again I can shout it loud and proud: Check out the El Michels Affair album Sounding Out the City. Sure it came out two years ago, nonetheless...this album is seriously worth its weight in gold. Its kind of like Hip Hop influenced funk rather than the other way around. There is a very cinematic quality to the whole album that reminds me at the same time of old school soul mixed with dub and hip hop. It's just one of those records you can't believe someone actually made because it bumps so hard and is a great deal different than most new funk today.
So to emphasize this, here is a cover of a Wu-Tang track that you won't find on the album (however, the band is now the live backing band for the Wu!)
