Now that I'm pondering the deep questions, I find myself distracted by a banal conundrum: how did you get to have an old-school Mog player?
The visuals on that video are amazing. This is a great post.

Blind Willie Nelson as the epitome of the pace of your cosmos - how poetic. "Interplantetary vagabonds" conjure up images of those great people who like Coltrane or Bach who've travelled beyond the meek envelope of our earthly existence. - Food for thoughts indeed
@Spike: You can still the old MOG player by embedding your own uploaded mp3 (avoid the Rhapsody thing) - just copy and paste the generated code and edit the end i.e. this part: a href="http://mog.com/" target="_blank" style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color:#FFFFFF; font-size:12px">mog.com

I have been seeing those old mog players in the comments also, and wondering how they are are being used. Linking to older music posts maybe? Very good post by the way, love to think about all this stuff. They say time is an illusion - everything past, present and future is all happening at once. The whole concept of no beginnings and no ends is something I don't think the human mind can understand yet. Happy New Year to everyone.

Bartleby, thank you. I think you meant Blind Willie Johnson, though there _was_ a Blind Willie McTell. Often my comments have have typos, which I noticed as soon as they were published, though not this one;
Bartleby says
Thanks Spike for correcting my mistake. I hate myself for all the typos which pervade all my posts and comments.
Re embedding your own mp3s or adding multiple tracks in your posts, just let me know if the above is not clear I can send you a MOG-mail.

If you'll pardon the metaphoric pun - use your browser on these pages\view\source (you'll see all the tags). Thanks Bartleby for teaching me that over on your Billie Holiday post. I think the brain will disable the old player source at some point. The only reason I use it yet is to preserve that linear scale FF/RW function. (I know they're working to improve the button player ..until then). PMs sent with info ;) I thank you all for your comments.
It certainly is the best choice out of the bunch on the record for me (even Mozart). It fits perfectly as you peer into the darkness. Blinded by the lighty really.

You're a true poet, FastR. For some reasons I can't quite explain, your words such as "blinded by the light" combined with Blind Willie Johnson's music seem to resonate in my brain - is that what they call consonance? At any rate, I'm truly moved.
Great post FastR, thanks.
PS: I agree with you - you've less control over the lay-out of your posts with MOG 2.0

This track is so beautifuly haunting and enigmatic. That slide guitar shivers me timbers. A magnificent choice for a soundtrack to your spectacular post.

A wonderful post and video FastR. For those who don't know the narrator in that video, it's Daniel Pinchbeck, author of Breaking Open the Head and 2012 The Return of the Quetzalcoatl. If you're a fan of Terrence McKenna, Carl Jung or just mythology in general I highly recommend his books.

I thought you might like that. For the record folks, ZeppoNoir is the one that laid this film on me. I'm into archeoastronomy so this is keen stuff - I'm anxious to read this literature. Thanks for the comment, insights, info, and the inspiration. :)
Bartleby, those words are too kind. Thanks for the correction and 'light'. That too, a correction of what I might instead call 'economical irony'. (I was thinking Plato's cave really). Thanks for your kind comments my good scrivener friend. I think your complimentary comment on my Buffalo Daughter post is more an example of 'consonance.' ;)
DMDM, 'Shivers me timbers' is so true - cuts you to the bone that simple sound. They don't call The Blues - roots- for nothing. _Everything is there_ in that darkness.
Happy New Year all!

.ca is always welcome in my browser ;-) Thanks so much for your comment.
I am - and I thank you (listening to this podcast sounds like a nice reprieve) - I'll take a listen.
Would it be sychronistic that I was listening to Carol King's title song to _Tapestry_ when I first read your comment here? Hmmm
I can never get over the sense that it all means something for nothing - a wandering paradox of metaphors. I'm just a small thing and I'm grateful that I can think about such grand things (I think). Then again I would most just like to be a loved dog somewhere just sniffing life and wagging my tail (sittin next to Willie Johnson on the back porch and tasting the moon).
:-)

deep thoughts...
I mean, your post is deep, from Blind Willie to deep space...
and, the code to the old Mog player in one of the comments... too cool!
FastRMacR says
Right On! Glad you liked the post and thanks for your comments.
Deep-sky objects and dark skies are definitely part of my ontology.
What lies out there is definitely 'old code'. ;)
Deep thoughts are good for the soul - just like the blues.
