The Presets live at Paradiso

Australian electro duo The Presets consists of Julian Hamilton (vocals, programming and keys) and Kimberly Moyes (drums, programming and keys). Starting out in the sleaziest clubs of Sydney, they slowly but steadily worked their way up the ladder to top the Australian album charts and tour with the likes of 2manyDJ's and Daft Punk.

According to their bio The Presets fit 'snugly between Pet Shop Boys and Elvis Presley'. But one might also describe The Presets' music as dark futuristic pounding electro music.

Julian and Kimberly first met each other at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, studying Beethoven by day and dancing to New Order and The Smiths by night.

After several successful EP's, The Presets were signed by Modular Recordings in 2003, home of a.o. Wolfmother, Cut Copy and The Avalanches. In 2005 they finally released their full-length debut 'Beams', including dancefloor killers like 'Down Down Down' and 'Are You The One?'.

The Presets broke through internationally. Three years of extensive touring followed, bringing them to all corners of the globe. This experience became the main input for the band's follow-up album 'Apocalypso' (2008). 'Apocalypso' brought forth hits like 'My People' and 'This Boy's In Love'.

Check out www.fabchannel.com for many more new videos!

Elbow live at Paradiso

Elbow is a Manchester based indie pop/rock band. Its music can be placed somewhere between Radiohead and Coldplay. Over the years Elbow's innovative sound and candid and evocative lyrics have been praised by the likes of Blur, R.E.M, U2 and John Cale.

Lead singer Guy Garvey met guitarist Mark Potter at college in 1990, who was in a band with drummer Richard Jupp and bassist Pete Turner. Guy joined the band, and so did Mark's brother Craig. At first they called themselves Mr. Soft, which was later changed to Soft and finally into Elbow.

Elbow's first three EP's were given extensive airplay on BBC Radio 1. In 2001 their debut album 'Asleep In The Back' was released on V2 and gained them several award nominations (a.o. for the NME and Brit Awards). 'Cast of Thousands' (2003) and 'Leaders Of The Free World' (2005) followed.

The fourth Elbow record 'The Seldom Seen Kid' was issued in March 2008. The British quintet recorded this record without any help from outside the band. For this album they were rewarded with the Mercury Prize 2008.

Of Montreal - Live in Concert (New in Fabchannel archive!)

Watch the recent Amsterdam gig of these Montreal Indie rockers!

Of Montreal is an American indie pop band from Florida, formed by frontman and glam rock icon Kevin Barnes. The band is named after Kevin's failed relationship in Montreal.
Of Montreal's debut album 'Cherry Peel' came out in 1997, followed by 'The Gay Parade' in 1998. 'Aldhils Arboretum' (2002) was the start of a change in their sound. It became much more danceable, structured and the use of electronica increased.
The band's performance is not only known for its high level of dance-abiltiy, but also for its visual effects and the many costume changes of the group.
Their latest album is called 'Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer' and was released in 2007.

Fabchannel.com Must See: Paul Weller - Live in Concert (full concert video)

Check out his amazing performace at the Paradiso in Amsterdam!

Singer/songwriter Paul Weller, born John William Weller in 1958, is one of the most influential figures in British pop music. Together with Ocean Colour Scene guitarist Steve Cradock, he will give a special and intimate show at the Paradiso.
The world got to know Paul Weller as frontman of The Jam ('75 – '82), the most popular band of the punk era. Looking for new musical challenges he disbanded The Jam and formed The Style Council ('83 – '90) in 1983. In the 90's Weller started his solo career, first as The Paul Weller Movement and later on simply as Paul Weller.
