About Alice Russel:

Alice Russell is a British soul singer from Brighton. She became increasingly known throughout the early 2000's when performing with bands like Bah Samba, TM Juke and Nostalgia 77. Her style of singing is inspired by Chaka Khan and Bettie Davies, and could be compared to the list of retro souls singers like Adele and Duffy.

She also released a few solo albums while she was contributing to other artists' albums. Russell released 'Under The Munka Moon' in 2004 and the following year 'My Favorite Letters'. Both albums were met to critical acclaim but did not lead to her big breakthrough.

Her collaborations with different artists have made her an experienced singer in any style. Latin, soul and R&B are some of the styles that can be heard in her sound. A good example of her multi-functionality is the unique version of the White Stripes' 'Seven Nation Army'.

In November 2008, Alice Russell releases her critical acclaimed new album 'Pot Of Gold'. The album established Russell's name as a solo artist. She supported the release by touring through the UK and Europe with her six-piece live band later that year.
