About Rodrigo Y Gabriela:

Rodrigo Sánchez and Gabriela Quintero together form the Mexican musical duo Rodrigo y Gabriela. These two guitar virtuosos, who are now based in Dublin, are known for their overwhelming and fast acoustic guitar-play.

Rodrigo and Gabriela got to know each other in Mexico City, while playing together in a trash metal band called Tierra Acida. Frustrated by the limitations of the local scene they left to Ireland.

Their big breakthrough was when Damien Rice asked them to open his 2005 Oxygen show. A lot of touring followed and in 2006 they released their fourth album 'Rodrigo y Gabriela', which entered the Irish charts at number 1. Beating both the Arctic Monkeys and Johnny Cash!

The album includes their infamous re-makes of Led Zeppelin's 'Stairway to Heaven' and Metallica's 'Orion'.

Rodrigo y Gabriela released their second live album (+DVD) 'Live In Japan' in 2008.
