The Greatest Name

The other day I was here, at my computer, listening to some online radio while reading a webcomic. Nothing out of the ordinary, the music was okay. Eventually, a song comes on that I think is pretty good, and so I bring up the window to check what song it is. And lo and behold, what did I see? I discovered THE GREATEST BAND NAME EVER.h2. GoatwhoreWhen you see a band name as fantastic as this, it is required to listen to more from them, so this morning I decided it was time to do just that. I sat down and I listened to some more Goatwhore. It turns out that they're a pretty good fairly average black metal band comparable to Immortal or Mayhem, but their bark is better than their bite. With a name such as Goatwhore and a "CD cover such as that for their second album Funeral Dirge For The Rotting Sun":http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/20/Funeraldirgerottingsun.jpg I would expect more. Such a name and art deserve better than the typical black metal sound being put out by the band. Don't get me wrong, they're pretty good, but they don't stand out when amongst the hundreds of other bands out there like them.
Simply put, if you're a fan of black metal or are trying to get into the genre, they're worth checking out. Other than that however, don't be drawn in by the great techniques they've used to get people listening. And now I leave you with the first song I heard by them, Forever Consumed Oblivion, off of their newest album A Haunting Curse.
