WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Split Your Hands

After reading Mooska's post about the legendary "Troggs Tape" - a fly on the wall recording of The Troggs having an epic meltdown in a recording studio - I found some awesome remixes. One of the high points of the original train wreck is when the guitar player is strumming his part, someone yells "YEAH!" into the talkback mic, the guy keeps playing the part EXACTLY the same way, and the voice comes back on the talkback with "NOOO!" Someone soon emits the unmistakeable cackle of a man who has cracked. Said cackle is well used in this remix:

Then you have Kraftwerk (or someone posing as Kraftwerk?), weighing in with a Vocorder treatment of the debacle.

It is said this tape was the original inspiration for Spinal Tap. Whether that's true or not, it is clear that truth is stranger than fiction.

But lest we forget, The Troggs are the band that gave us Chip Taylor's magnificent hit, Wild Thing. And fairy dust or not, that is a fucking number one!
