Inspired once again, sort of inadvertently by Dale's post, I thought it would be especially nostalgic to ask Moggers from the ends of Eric5776's Trusted Moggers spectrum to post mix tape tracklistings given to you from friends past, present or future.
One of my favs is entitled Spaz Vol. 1 given to me by my college dorm mate with whom I had a radio show. Spaz was my DJ name. We had a Thursday night 11-2 AM shift known as The Twilight Zone. We'd take the drunk callers, the obsessive callers, the just plain ridiculous callers' requests. Heavy music engulfed the first hour. Softer music the following hour or two. There are some great tracks on this mix tape here but Pedro the Lion "Nothing" (posted below) stands out because it was sort of our first discovery of an artist/band who never really broke but deserved to (retrospectively speaking of course). PTL has since split. There are a lot of band on this mix tape that fit that description. Glad I got a lot of these mixes transfered to CD/mp3 format.
For every comment, I'll try to post another mix tape tracklisting from the past. Try to dig deep into the vaults - look for mix tapes given to you from someone else. I'll do the same.

I have never been given a mix tape of my own. Apparently my music friend fans don't love me as much as I love them.
Tis a shame but on the bright side, there's always a limitless # of mixes to make other/oneself.
I am going to have to dig in the crates for this one, but I know there are two tapes that I will never give up no matter how long I live. First was given to me by the first love in my life. Even though it never panned out (we did date almost 8 years) I still keep it as a reminder of the many good years we had. On that one came my first exposure to Billy Bragg, loved him ever since. The second came from my still best friend and it was a mix of punk and rap songs. It was not the music that got me so much but the cover art that was put into it.
Oh yeah. I will never give up exes mix tapes (unless I lose them), but the first true mix tape that means something is definitely a keeper.
I love it when a mix introduces you to someone and you just become obsessed w/ them. Happens all of the time. That's how I discovered Alkaline Trio - through a mix of an Ex.
As for the cover art. I'm
no good at creating cover art, so when someone else does it for me, I appreciate it even more.

I don't have the mix tape anymore because I lost it from a billion moves I've made since it was given to me 9 years ago but it was my angry driving music. With that tape of hardcore speed metal I was never late to anything, lol. That is also the first time I heard Modest Mouse before they got a lot of radio time for their emo-ish/stylish indie sound. The only other band I can remember off the track list was The Locust.
The other one that was given to me by my last boyfriend included Coldplay-Via La Vida, Elvis Costello, and Dire Straits with The Sultan's of Swing. I still listen to it from time to time. I have tons of albums burned for me from other's private collections with original artwork/drawings on the sleeves.
In 2000 I was still in high school and listened to Dance Hall Crashers and other (pretty horrible) ska bands, lol.
hey, what is wrong with the dance hall crashers!
I can not find any of the mix tapes given to me but I think only one person ever did. My wife did find one I gave her 15 years ago when we dated in college. I am surprised by some of the tracks

That's a great mix (and a really classic one). Love the Mr. T Experience fixation! Nice variety and combination (especially The Lemonheads - FTW?)
Oddly, no really old mix tapes for me can be found. This one was from circa 2000 from an Ex of sorts -
