Do these lyrics speak of death or sex to you?cross the street from your storefront cemetaryhear me hailing from inside and realizei am the conscience clearin pain or ecstacyand we were all weaned my dearupon the same fatiguestaring at the sunoh my own voicecannot save me nowstanding in the seait's justone more breathand thendown i goyour mouth is open widethe lover is insideand all the tumults donecollided with the signyou're staring at the sunyou're standing in the seayour body's over menote the trees becausethe dirt is temporarymore to mine than fact facename and monetarybe what you willand then thrown down your lifeoh it's a damned fine gameand we can play all nightbeat the skins and let theloose lips kiss you cleanquietly pour out like lightlike light, like answering the sunyou're staring at the sunyou're standing in the seayour mouth is open wideyou're trying hard to breathethe water's at your neckthere's lightning in your teethyour body's over me

  2. Sethpian says Sounds to me like a psychopathic lover. There was a story that I either saw in a movie or read once (I forget which, but i am inclined to think it was a movie) where a man took his lover and somehow restrained her in shallow water at low tide, and then watched as the tide went up around her. Then again, I may be remembering this totally wrong - I only got 3 hours of sleep last night and I am actually working today. If anyone knows this story, please post more details.

  4. QueenofHell says To die is a metaphor for orgasm in literature. Alexander Pope wrote that someone 'died three times' in The Rape of the Lock.

  8. Anonymous says It's all sex and death. Everything. You can't have sex without death being there and death gets part of its own meaning from sex. Both the absence and presence of one implies the other. So yes, both.
