Hi there....

Posted almost 6 years ago
I never know what to say here, so this should be somewhat short. I live in Philly, I'm a new dad, and I like pretty much everything musically, with some exceptions (of course). Most of the new music in my life in the past few years has come from personal recommendations from people I've talked to. That and.... ummm, well.......myspace.com. I know, I know......but I'm really not one of those friend whores that infest that site. My only "friends" are 1) people I know IRL, 2) bands I like / might be interested in, and 3) local venues to see said bands (for daily updates). Oh, and there might be a whiskey bottle in there too. ;)
So, I'm hoping to find more good music here that I never knew about. Feel free to make any recommendations or comments - any input is valued!

  3. name left blank says Got any sites for venues in Philly? I'm a couple hours south of there (kind of new to the area) and have been looking for some good places to see shows and I've gotten a little DC'd out recently.

  4. crazydexter says cool - looks like we share a lot of the same tastes. My latest faves, both recommended to me by fellow moggers, are Priestess and Sam Paglia. I have posted about Priestess a couple times on my MOG page and zoolander has a great post about Sam Paglia. Enjoy!

  5. Ryan Pivovar says Yeah, it's some writing I did for something, and I felt it was appropriate for MOG. And you're right, you can write your own history. What I really meant is that you can't possibly go back in time and change things according to the way you want them. I'm very new to the MOG community, and it doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of users. And if there are, it seems they keep to themselves pretty much. Is this organization in its infancy? Also, I see you like Radiohead. That's awesome. I love Amnesiac and Kid A both equally. Is Hail to the Thief just as good?
