Sooo after Futures came out in '04, My "Jimmy Ears" were molded to a newer, stronger, more refined Jim and Crew and I liked it. Not to say that Clarity and the fine pieces of work before and after it weren't great as well, but Futures brought in a new era, and so in that tradition, Chase This Light enters the collection. So I have found myself investigating electro-pop, glam-rock and I have found Shiny Toy Guns...actually I saw them play Conan. If you feel like transporting back to the dance halls of the 1980's while still maintaing your "hipster" cred, here's your phonebooth So-crates.Wow.. yeah I said it. LOL I am standing by it.

This woman has one of the most soothing and poetic means of musicianship that I have ever heard. She's wonderful and I got the chance to see her live in the spring of '06 in a really intimate venue and she completely took me by suprise. I can't even discribe the combinations of influences, but what ever she has put together works great!Give her a listen and let me know what you think!

I am personally more a fan of her theater work, even though her solo work is also lovely. What I can say for sure though, is this woman has lungs! Holy shit. I saw her in NYC with the original cast of Wicked and I was moved to tears by her voice.
