Artist: Album: Track: I Can't Keep From Crying Sometimes

If you loaned your car to your girlfriend and got an insurance claim in the mail a few days later about an accident she didn't tell you about, you might find the title of this song appealing too.

In spite of the sad title, the song is upbeat, jazzy, and addictive if you're into the striped-down sound of guitar, lots of snare and hi-hat mixed with a splash of big horns.

There's lots of misspellings of the band's name on the internets. It's not Diedre, or Deidre. It is Deirdre Wilson Tabac. Can't find much info about them. Looks like their album dates from the early 70's.

Hope this tune brings you as much joy as discovering it has brought me.

Artist: Track: La Negra Tomasa

Dennis has a link to a set by Quantic from a radio show called "Crate Soul Pressure". One of my favorite tracks in the set is an old Cuban salsa tune called "La Negra Tomasa".

While trying to track down the name of this tune (which was NOT easy, by the way) I discovered the catchy chorus,"kikiribu mandinga", apparently means something like "It's all messed up" and likely has African origins.

Enjoy!

While I've never been panhandled by a junkie on the bus, I have seen some strange things aboard the SF Muni. On the 22 Fillmore, there was a game of three-card monte going down in the back. Do people still fall for this? It's the oldest con in the book.

Quasimoto led to my discovery of Madlib. His jazzy beats are packed full of flavor. Quasimoto remains an enigma. He is Superman and his Clark Kent side remains a secret.

Check out the bus ride and if you like it, check out Madlib as well.
