What can I say about one of the best albums of last year? It's hard to label these guys with a genre. I know they say that while on LSD you can see music and taste colors. Who needs LSD? Just listen to Welcome Back Dear Children and you will envision flowing colors. For some reason this album taps in to all five senses. Today I am doing yard work. I hate yard work. Some Kind Of Chill on repeat on the ipod somehow makes mowing the lawn a pleasant experience. I kid you not!

I just heard Arizona for the first time today, after seeing that they signed up for MOG. Some kind of chill is an excellent song.

Wow, what a great voice. I definitely stands out the first few notes he sings. This is a really fun and happy song.

This song is from Guster's latest album Ganging Up On The Sun. Their most political album to date, but not in a noticeable way. Songs like Manifest Destiny keep to their happy poppy standards while conveying an underlying political message. If this song comes up on ipod shuffle, it's likely you'll think it's Wilco's 'Hummingbird'. The intros of both songs sound very similar. This video is the extended version of Manifest Destiny / Sorority Tears.

Well, I figured the best way to start here is to introduce you to the music I make before I start showing you the music that influences me. This is the first single from our EP Electrolaid which comes out this week. It's a mellow groove song. A lot of people have been calling our band 'beach music'. While it brings visions of Jack Johnson and Jimmy Buffett to mind, I really don't mind the label right now. Who knows, maybe in a few years every band will be clamoring to be called a beach music band. Every band on RRC will be wearing hawaian shirts and flip flops while standing in front of a brick wall.
