WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Shovels in my hand from digging for your pain

Oh, unrest. Where to start. An amazingly lovely band. I had the pleasure of seeing Mark Robinson play twice, post unrest, when he was supporting his great solo album, Tiger Banana. He played in Reno with Versus (another great band) and I saw him in Sacramento at a show at a studio where he and Calvin Johnson played. Calvin is such a strange juxtoposition of muscular arms, booming voice and childlike shyness. He is an intriguing fellow. However, this post is about unrest. Mark was a terribly nice guy and kindly signed vinyl for my friends and me. Even the famous Animal Park disc met with his pen without hesistation. he said the cover was the idea of unrest bassist, Bridget Cross. If you are unfamiliar with the cover, here is the pic. I added the heart in illustrator so I wouldn't be hassled when I post it here, but you get the idea. There are so many lovely unrest songs, but I decided to post Soon it is Going to Rain from their album Perfect Teeth (which sported this lovely Cath Carrol pic on the cover).
