I heard this song again last weekend...
I’m at the Bonfire on SE Stark. Maybe I’ve had three beers or four. Light beers. Pabst or Miller High Life. The cheaper special. I’m sitting on a stool in the billiard room. I’m only watching. A guy and a girl are playing eight ball. He shoots and knocks the four in with one solid clack and gazes up at her to flirt and taunt and call his next shot. He misses on the seven, and I catch him clench his fist. I smile to myself and look at her to see if she caught him too, but she hadn’t. She’s reaching around in her handbag for matches, and there’s still smoke in the air when she lights her next cigarette. She waves the silver blossom away as if making some farewell gesture. He's waiting on her. She swallows off the top of her pint and is slow to take the cue from him. I look away to not seem like I’m staring. But I watch her shoot too. Her bangs fall over her face, and I doubt she can even see. She hardly aims when she strikes the cue ball, a feather shot, and just grazes the eleven, dropping it softly in the side without a sound. She reaches for the chalk then her cigarette again. The song on the jukebox ends. The pause hangs in the air with the smoke she breathes out until the next track begins. The voice like a ghost counts, 1... 2... 3... 4... Did you ever wake up to find...

Delightfully intriguing and a song to complement the tones of the story. God, I love this song....

One of my all-time Stones songs - and the first studio track to really and fully showcase Mick Taylor's style. What a protean performance! More than two decades after the release of Sticky Fingers, I caught the dark (and sometimes delicate) downtown Manhattan rock band Madder Rose in a club date at Slim's in San Fran. Their encore was a ripping cover of "Sway." Transcendent.

Ditto. I've owned this track for ages without realizing it was so good.
