Just thought I would add my two cents.Mid 70's Herbie Hancock. Couldn't get enough of this in highschool. Glad you guys made me dig it out again.Everything about this song is tight. Paul Jackson kills on that bass.

    soulrocket says wrong, d. funk is all about sex ;-) however this hancock tune is a bit more mental. it shows a few sampleable parts i dig a lot, specially those bells (1.17 & 5.19),

    Dzendvokh says Ok, ok, but if you had heard how I said "Love", you might have agreed. Mental is not how I would have described it but I see your point. Heck I might have been called a mental guy once upon a time. Hancock, having the background he does was probably approaching composition a bit different, a bit more mentally. But I still think it's funky.
