Wait...there is another Anne in your life...I will deal with it I suppose.
Nice mix...I hope she enjoys both the trip and the mix.
Just for clarity...my given name is Anne, but I am more an Annie.
Well actually she is Norwegian so her name is pronounced Anna .....
just for clarity's sake :-)
I can't think of you as an Anne.... definitely an Annie.
Wow what timing! I was just wondering what other bands are out that have a CSS-like appeal or the energy of Bonde do Rolê. Got any ideas? Considering your multiple Brazilian Girls songs (love them!) I think you may be the man to ask.
brittany.... I think that would still be a good question to float in the mogosphere I would be interested in the response. I'm certainly no expert.
you can try the group Tetine
also check out the rio baile funk series ... Diplo's Favela on Blast
Here's an interesting blog.
As far as more electro-punk CSS stuff.... not sure.
If I think of something else I'll let you know.
thanks! these are great sources. think i'll start w/ those. love the diplo stuff already.
And here for a second I thought the title of the post meant you were heading my way . . .
Of course, predictably, my knee-jerk reaction is, "Where's all the old shit?" But this is a lovely mix. Don't listen to the crusties....
I was just happy to come and listen to the music, quite beautiful
Chuck... my wife and I have been wanting to plan a southern states trip for quite a while now ... you will definitely be on the list when that comes up.
Bill ... I know you could school me left, right, up and down in brazilian and latin music ... (I should have asked you for mix suggestions) ... I did try to change it up a bit in that department, some older some more recent.
Kevin ... glad you stopped by.
I must say I did take some time with this one and am quite happy with how some of the transitions turned out.
I feel as if I need to either get more music like this or take a vacation to Brazil
Good stuff. I love that Wilson Simonal track. I put it on mixes all the time. It's so smooth. I need one of those player doodads. I'm sure your friend will be pleased with the mix.
awesome mix you got there, Nick. the City of God soundtrack rocks. here i was thinking, "ohh, modern-ish Brazilian," and then i caught Bill's comment, "Where's all the old shit?" ROFL.
