Are You A Student of DE?

Posted almost 4 years ago

DE can be applied to anything you do ... even to the final discipline of doing nothing... the easier you do it, the less you have to do ... he who has learned to do nothing with his whole mind and body will have everything done for him....

Well. ok more than a bit ... but not "absolutely" by any stretch of the imagination.

Always an ongoing process of untethering ...

Like Mary Chapin Carpenter, I do things "The Hard Way Every Time." The only thing I Do Easy is...do something for others.

My sixth grade math teacher taught the class that math is "the pursuit of laziness," and I have expanded that as a justification for being lazy in all aspects of life.  The efficiency of DE is especially evident when you do manual labor for a living; it is humbling to watch a man double your age get twice as much done as you while expending half of the energy.

I'm a lazy fucker who does nothing and am fairly untethered after a few drinks, to boot. A Zen master in the making, no doubt. I like the beats behind the Zen spiel, reminds me of Richie Hawtin. Yep, I can hear it, you obviously had a word with the man up the hall. ;)

For the folks who are asking what DE is..... you have already mastered part of it ... i.e you did nothing by NOT listening to the whole song ;-) .... but I have to ask  .... was that because you actually and faithfully applied the principles of DE or was it because you just thought this was a boring piece of techno?

You must let the man speak ... and it shall be revealed unto you.

I wonder where the hell that recording came from anyways?

...I always "Do Easy" - get way more done doing it, and have more energy left for the stuff that _really matters... all the while continuing the Easy Way thus repeating the "psy"-cle... and of course, leading to the ultimate - Do Nothing.

I realise it now ... the master of Buttons ... (thanks and praises given to the most high) ... has fortuitously blocked the red button for some of you ... take it as a sign ... the first step along the long and ironically, tortuous path of learning DE .... if you begin with nothing, you end with nothing.

Have not heard the track, but what you speak of sounds similar to "Being Slack."  Or the Sub genius path to holiness by doing nothing.

Haha, DE=Do Easy. Good one Nick. Finally can play the red button. I think I got DE down to a science here. Unfortunately, since I live alone, my apt. doesn't clean itself, but maybe if I 'do nothing' long enough the dirt will crust up & just fall off, thereby becoming 'clean' again. Slackers unite!

Just checking back and listening for the 4th or 17th time.

I am surprised nobody suggested Alan Watts. This isn't his style though.

The narration has to be a self help tape our someone reading from a book. Of course we have Google to help us find out.

Okay, I am a freakin' mentally deficient homosapien.

    Douicie = Do Easy

    Clever.
