WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Le Festival au Desert

Posted over 2 years ago
I have always regretted not making it down to Mali when I was just North in Morocco. I can't imagine how amazing a concert like this would be. Maybe someday......Le Festival au Desert occurs annually at Essakane, Mali. The song is from the Tuareg group, Tinariwen, formed in the early eighties in Moammar al-Qadhafi's camps of Tuareg rebels. Their new album, "Water of Life" is excellent. Check them out "here":http://www.tinariwen.com/Read a slate.com review "here":http://www.slate.com/id/2166480/This video contains a clip of Oumou Sangare, the "queen of Malian song".Ali Farka ToureFind out about the festival "Here":http://www.festival-au-desert.org/
