Carlin on Religion

Posted over 2 years ago
Look, I'm not an irreligious person, but I can't pass this one up. It's just too damn funny. And if you're into conspiracy theories, "Zeitgeist":http://zeitgeistmovie.com/ is a scary treat. Just have your critical thinking caps on when you watch it.

  1. dachmo says this movie is killing me, is this stuff about Horace true? (I'm agnostic by the way) I've never heard these things before, good stuff!

  2. Dzendvokh says There are a lot of similarities. No doubt about it. But you gotta be careful of a movie like this. The way they set things up, state things as if they are absolute fact then move you right along. Is it as cut and dry as that, no probably not. Just wait till you get to the second and third parts.

  3. dachmo says just entering part 2 now. I'm worried... (It sounds highly plausible and in fact probable, but the narrator is definitely taking you where he wants you to go, I understand that)

  4. FastRMacR says Thanks for the post, Dzendvokh. I saw Carlin a few years ago - the guy has a rapier wit (and he doesn't dally getting to the point/heart of it). < dig it > . I made a link to this movie (amongst some other links) in my '9.11' "post":http://mog.com/FastRMacR/blog_post/110732 Fascinating information (make well of it what you will). Peace

  5. Neill says 5000 years ago; How to get you army to fight better than their army? Persuade your passionate young men that if they die they will go to a much better place, so no need to be afraid. How many millions have died believing such nonsense? Sad....

  6. soulrocket says damn... video not available. i am not a religious person either.. i am way too spiritual for that, heh.

  7. Dzendvokh says Actually I said I was not irreligious, i.e. not overtly hostile to religion. However much of the Religious establishment I find distasteful to say the least. And yes I would not go looking for spirituality in a church or a mosque. This clip is from Zeitgeist. Check the movie out if you have not seen it.

  10. soundsa-mazing says Wow, that was amazing. I would love to share this with fellow humans. Unfortunately, the particular high school I go to is extremely right wing, as in the students, not the teachers, and when i say anything in the least about this kind of thing I get my head bitten off and called an atheist hippie. I'm not even atheist! Oh how I love mckinelyville...the irony is that less than 10 minutes away is Arcata, CA, the most accepting place I've ever been! their high school, arcata high, is our "rival" high school, so whenever non-religious, non-republican people speak up about anything they are told to go back to arcata. I love immature teenagers and their ignorance! ugh. sorry, just had to vent ;)

  12. dachmo says Between the video you linked me to last night and the sad news concerning the loss of a cherished MOGger today, I've been in a real contemplative/bummed out mood. I did a bit of research on the stuff I saw last night in the video and I'm starting to find out that a lot of it is unsubstantiated and half-truths. The religion part I believe to be close enough to probability then anything that comes out of the bible itself is. Concerning 9/11: I do have problems with it but in order for something like this to have been planned it would have to include way too many people and people are not known for keeping secrets, not of this kind and not for this long. I will say I've always been a little weary about the situation at the pentagon, the plane happened to take out an area that was closed for renovations! No video is ever shown that captures a plane going down over DC? and I've never heard anyone state that they saw this actually happen either. A plane the same size crashes in the Atlantic and they go out and recover the wreckage from the oceans floor but yet they couldn't find anything of substantial size to bring out of the pentagon! and I've always believed from day one that the plane over Pennsylvania got shot down I'm not too sure about what they state happened in the film. I have read reports that say there was nothing left of the plane to be found out in the field which I do find to be odd. As for the unified world theory it may be an idea they want to achieve but I think this would lead to mass revolutions all around the globe that would eventually cause a lot of havoc for society and in the end topple a lot of governments thus ending their fun. It does make you think about what is going on and the lies they dump on us constantly because "we don't need to know" I will say that if they do try to pass this north american union thing, there will be another civil war.

  13. Dzendvokh says The movie had a strong impact on me for a couple of days. Really got me thinking about things, which is good. Yes I have read the debunking stuff and then the debunking of the debunking. But I agree, would be quite hard to pull off. Of course I don't believe for a second that the administration was above letting it happen in order to benefit from it. I mean thats pretty obvious, they have been able to do almost everything they want to because of this war. In the end, like I said, it's probably more complicated than all that. Who really knows? I can't remember did they mention Bohemian Grove in the movie. I mean that is kind of freaky. All these leaders, members of this exclusive club. I couldn't dig it up but there is this photo of Nixon and Reagan sitting together at the Bohemian Grove club BEFORE Nixon is president like its all planned out. And they all dress in red ku klux klan outfits and such, fucking weird. I'm sorry about Crash. I have not been around long enough so I did not get to know him. He touched a lot of people.
