Jeremy Enigk's newest record "World Waits" is one of those records I can't believe I put off picking up after I listened to it for the first time. Of course, Enigk's output with Sunny Day Real Estate and The Fire Theft is enough to solidify his reputation as one of the most brilliant songwriters and musicians around today. Yet this solo record, a release from Enigk's Lewis Hollow label, is in a league of its own. Unbelievably top-notch songwriting, dreamy, lush soundscapes of guitars and orchestra, and of course, Enigk's incredibly unique voice make this record an absolute gem, within indie-rock or otherwise.
