Abbey Road Live!
Hey, Liz here.So i payed 10 bucks last night to get into a 21+ concert (the management so kindly let me in) so I could dance around like a fool to Beatles music and have my hair and clothes reek of cigarette smoke. It was pretty sweet. There are a lot of Beatles Tribute Bands out there...and I've seen plenty. The first one I ever saw was British Invasion in the England part of Epcot at Disney. They're pretty good, and for a long time I thought they were the best...until 1964: The Tribute came to town. They're rated the best Beatles tribute band in the world, and with good reason. They recreate a Beatles concert from 1964 followed by a set of songs from all over the place. Real mop tops, real leather boots, read Rickenbacker guitars and a Hofner violin bass. However, the band lost two of it's members just last year...Their George and Ringo called it quits, and I really think that is a devastating blow. Having seen them before and after the new members that they currently have, I'd say that 1964...The Tribute is headed out as the beast Beatles tribute in the world. But about Abbey Road Live...I've seen a lot of Beatles tribute bands...over 80, to be exact, and there are good ones and there are bad ones and there are great ones...Abbey Road Live is one of those great ones. They were the first ones to come up with the idea of actually playing through a whole album...namely Abbey Road. They do other albums as well, such as Magical Mystery Tour and I'm excited about this years recreation of the Sgt. Pepper's album. (It was 40 years ago today, y'know). So if you live in Athens, GA, Nashville, TN or Louisville, KY...Abbey Road Live will probably be playing near you sometime in the future...and if they are, i would suggest checking them out! I might post a list of the good Beatles Tribute bands i've seen in my next post. Mayhaps....there are a lot of them ;PApple sauce,LizOh yeah, i got Abbey Road Live to sign my license plate...lol - check it out
