Check this song! It's in Glass Houses by Billy Joel. I like almost all billy joel songs. Uptown girl is the best. Billy Joel kinda has a royalty in new york. He sang the national anthem once in the NFL Super Bowl and has quite a number of performances. This one is for rock and roll !What's the matter with the clothes I'm wearingCan't you tell that your tie's too wideMaybe I should buy some old tab collarsWelcome back to the age of jiveWhere have you been hidin' out lately, honeyYou can't dress trashy 'Til you spend a lot of moneyEverybody's talkin' 'bout the new soundFunny, but it's still rock and roll to me What's the matter with the car I'm drivin'Can't you tell that it's out of styleShould I get a set of white wall tiresAre you gonna cruise a miracle mileNowadays you can't be too sentimentalYou best bet's a true baby blue ContinentalHot funk, cool punk, even if it's old junkIt's still rock and roll to me Oh, it doesn't matter what they say in the papers'Cause it's always been the same old sceneThere's a new band in townBut you can't get the sound From a story in a magazineAimed at your average teen How about a pair of pink sidewindersAnd a bright orange pair of pantsWell, you could really be a Beau Brummel babyIf you just give it half a chanceDon't waste your money on a new set of speakersYou get more mileage from a cheap pair of sneakersNext phase, new wave , dance craze, anywaysIt's still rock and roll to me Whooooooooa-ho What's the matter with the crowd I'm seein'Don't you know that their out of touchShould I try to be a straight 'A' studentIf you are then you think too muchDon't you know about the new fashion honeyAll you need are looks and a whole lotta moneyIt's the next phase, new wave , dance craze, anywaysIt's still rock and roll to meEverybody's talkin' 'bout the new soundFunny, but it's still rock and roll to me

  3. fairportfan says Play that back to back with the Kinks' *Rock and Roll Fantasy* and Joan Jett's *I Love Rock and Roll* and *Good Music* and the Ramones' *Sheena is a Punk Rocker* and you gots you about fifteen minutes of Good Stuff. Then play the Ramones' *Rock'n'Roll Radio* and the Kinks' *Around the Dial* to remind you how much radio sucks these days in the clutches of (*ptui*) Clear Channel... And then play either the original or Joan's cover of *We're Not Gonna Take It* (or both) to remind us that we're still at least in charge of our own lives...

  5. B42 says When Billy Joel's box set came up on my mog page close to the top {because of the number of tracks} I felt a bit weirded by it cause I'm not a huge fan, I pulled it off my sister's collection, but you know there are more than a few great tracks in there and after all I was raised on Long Island. {can't say I really grew up there}......I think "Keepin' the Faith" is my fav.
