Not Quite A Full Faces Reunion, But As Close As We'll Get...

Artist:
I think that out of all of the groups that I have heard that none quite exhibited the loose swagger that can make rock and roll so great than Britain's late, lamented Faces. Next Sunday, three of the five are set to take the stage at the Helping the Heart of Music show benefitting the PRS for Music Members Benevolent Fund. As such, I felt it appropriate to post a few highlights of the group's 2004 box set, Five Guys Walk Into a Bar..., to show how great it is to see this band reuniting. Among the two missing is the biggest name from the group, the name that has led so many to groan once they realize who it is, but whose voice has also led so many to ask me exactly what happened to him, how he could have descended so much... of course, if he were there, it would be all about him. So, who cares if Roderick Stewart is absent?
Of course, I can forgive the other missing member, Ronnie Lane, for missing the show, for he died twelve years ago. A post or two on him soon to follow...
Filling in on bass for The Faces is Bill Wyman, whose Rhythm Kings will be serving as the house band for the night.

...Hey! Thanks for the kick in the memory
Rod Stewart. He is Devo.
Nice reminder. So, who's going to be taking Rod's place?
I don't think there's going to be one replacement. To the best of my knowledge, it's still somewhat secretive who those replacements are going to be. Certainly, the Faces both Small and regular-sized influenced a lot of people.
Having heard Mac and Woody tackle Rod vocals, I'm certain that they could sing the whole set between them if they wanted to.
And, of course, there's always the possibility that Rod could always sign on at the last minute, too... like Mac has said, "never say never".
the press release I saw named a dozen or so who would take over since Rod is out of the country. nice to see them perform again even so.
I'll admit that I haven't seen a list.
Are you sure that you're not simply looking at the list of the other artists who will be performing at the benefit (the others being Mick Hucknall, Melanie C, Paul Carrack, Lee Mead, Mark King and Mike Lindup, Andy Fairweather Low, Kiki Dee, Chris Difford, Georgie Fame, Jan Akkerman, Albert Lee and Martin Taylor)? Wyman's Rhythm Kings will be there. I don't think it's going to be Mac, Kenney, Woody and Bill backing those acts.
Again, I'm not certain who will be filling in. Ian McLagan (my go-to source for all things Faces) hasn't put the information on his site.
you may be right sometimes these announcements are not totally clear
