Lead Sails Paper Anchor

Artist:
"Lead Sails Paper Anchor" is Atreyu's latest album. I've listened to this album recently and I'm sorry to say that it is slightly disappointing.
I'm not saying the album sucks; there's good tracks. My favourite tracks were Doomsday, When Two Are One, and Lose It. But if you listened to previous Atreyu albums and enjoyed those old albums very much, then Lead Sails Paper Anchor will be a let down.
First of all the and maybe the biggest change of all would be the vocals. WTF! Barely Any Screaming! Except for like in a few songs. Personally I love Screamo and was one of the reasons why I really loved Atreyu. Songs like Bleeding Mascara, The Crimson, and Living Each Day Like You're Already Dead have awesome vocals. It wasn't just screaming, it was both screaming and singing which is great. Now is more singing than screaming, which I don't mind but the fact that is Atreyu kind of bothers me.
Also the beginnings of each song in Lead Sails, besides When Two Are One, seem over produced which kind of kills it. Honestly you should just skip the first 10 to 30 seconds of each song. Usually Atreyu songs are great right from the start and Falling Down sounds like a Green Day song at the beginning, eww.
Some songs are alright I guess but they're definitely not the best Atreyu songs out there. Atreyu has changed immensely and these changes may be hard to accept, especially if you love their old music.
Btw, if you may not already know, Atreyu is part of Hollywood Records now. Meaning, they're in the same record label with Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers. I don't want to sound like an idiot but I can't lie, this is pathetic.
It may take awhile to accept the new Atreyu since I loved the old. I think I'll go listen to My Fork In The Road now.
Rating: 4/10
