A true collectors MP3 … is it possible ??It’s a long and sorted story, possibly this will give iSound a black eye … but it needs to be told.Although far from meticulous, I do gather and record data from all the music sites I have my work published on. Every morning, like clockwork, I spend an hour recording hits, visits, plays, downloads etc.On May 4th I joined the site iSound.com, due to an invite to participate in their “Battle of the Bands” contest.CDBaby had previously uploaded my albums months earlier, so I went to sign on … low and behold another artist was using my page, had one of his tracks on it and my two albums … grrr !! I could not log on and registered my complaint.By May 7th, half way through the Battle, my site was working.I purchased a “Fresh Sound” position on the front page and did a massive e-mail and blog campaign, aimed at my personal web site link, to try and catch up to the pack, and co-ordinate the timing with the purchased add.The days my campaign came into gear the site counters mysteriously “crashed” registering no visits or plays. Yet my website recorded over 1200 clicks on my link.Needless to say, I fell just short of prize range, no biggie !!Several months later, my rank slipping from the top 10, I preformed another campaign with the exact results … what are the odds the counters crashed again … with 800 clicks on my link 3 days straight and nothing registered on my iSound page.Yesterday, I was to begin an exclusive sneak preview of the new album. I loaded up a “pre-release” version of the albums title track “Under a Spell”.As a pre-release, the download flag was set to “NO” … and I checked all my site links to ensure the track was available for listening only. Looked good, and the player was functioning perfect.What are the odds the site was malfunctioning for a third time ??Several hours later, I discovered the download flag was showing “YES” … ahhhh, and I could not reset it !! There were several rather awesome comments, but I had to abort and delete Why ?? First off ... there is a radio version of the track, listed as the first track on the album. This track is an extended version, a bonus track to complete the CD, which is to include vocals from several artists I am currently in collaboration with. This track was incomplete and was on display to give everyone a taste of what was coming down the pipe. A “Sneak preview” !!If you were one of the lucky ones that grabbed a free download, guard it !! This track will never be released in this form, and through the error of iSound, any downloads should now be considered as a rare …Have an awesome day !!Dennis Paul
