  5. mickimicki says :-) Umbabarauma always "reminds" me of last year's World Cup (in Football, or Soccer of course). Not that Brazil had any spectacular games... but for once, Brazilian music was heard everywhere round here for a month...

  6. ivylander says He is one of the deities of funk, without question. To me. "Umababarauma" will always be memorable as the opener to David Byrne's "Beleza Tropical" compilation - a head-alterung blast of energy. Byrne look a fair amount of shit from Brazilians because the collection was so quirky and personal, not the best of they were anticipating, You can argue some of the choices, but there's no denying that the CD got a lot of people into Brazilian music....

  7. soulrocket says love the 2nd track, man. I dig mostly anything that works fine on a dancefloor & ponta de lança is a winner.

For me, the best song is Meus Filhos, Meu Tesouro, Meu Futuro...

But this disco is a best, together with A Banda do Zé Pretinho!

    SambaRock in the vein!
