So, I can't play any music on my laptop rite now b/c it's not my laptop. I have to wait until I get my own... again. Bah.In other news:I've been listening to all Kim Taylor, all the time. She finally released her long-awaited second album, I Feel Like a Fading Light. And wow. I'm glad I bought it instead of paying the electric bill. I absolutely love the way she writes. I've always been attracted to artists who write in such a way that you don't know what the heck they're talking about. Well, sometimes I get tired of guessing lean towards more prolific writers. I digress.Kim has an amazingly pleasant, yet rock-ish voice. I heart her. Plus, she owns a coffee shop down-the-way....so that automatically makes her one cool chick. I'll be catching her late-nite show this weekend at the Midpoint Music Festival. Sweet.Something I'm looking forward to:Tall Stacks Music FestivalI'm gonna see so many fantastic artists. It hasn't completely sank in yet that I'm gonna see Al Green get his joy on. And Roseanne Cash, the daughter of a legend. OCMS, Wilco, Ricky Skaggs(gotta get some bluegrass in!), Over the Rhine, Tift Merritt, John Hiatt, Rodney Crowell, Louden Wainwright III, etc. And all for $20 with my Kroger Plus Card. :)Bring on the music...

  1. billcovert says Bring it indeed! For that price any one of those bands would be worth it. I had plans to come out from central VA and see the shows as I have family in the area, but alas, it was not to be. I have never seen Old Crow or Over the Rhine live but am really into their music. I guess it will have to wait until next time. I hope you have a blast, deepwater, and give us another post about the inevitable rocking out of this event. (oh and thanks for trusting my MOG. I am honored ;)
