WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Lemonade

I was so moved by the new Glen Phillips when it came out that I actually emailed Glen to let him know. The album is ridiculously spiritual and defining, and not in a completely overtaken sort of way, but in the strangestly sincere way possible. As a father, Glen has warmed his songwriting to bake some great pieces, some individual songs from Albulm to WInter Pays for Summer that more than justified their purchase or multiple listens. But in Mr. Lemons Glen has created the single most solid solo album of his career, and I would argue that the heat eminating from this record, the sheer enormity of accurate feelings of being a father, or even a human being, make it the most delicious work to date.As only he would, Glen charmingly responded to my email within a day- and from Japan, no less. He appreciated the sentiment--- and boy do we appreciate his too.dbP.S. "Mad Props" geekrockgyrl for holding this album up to the light where it deserves to be, and reminding me that I needed to do the same. http://mog.com/geekrockgyrl
