Hardship to Being On Top with Def Jam

Joe Budden from New Jersey has been heard on mix tapes religiously put out his first album sometime ago and it's weird that no one wanted to write something on it. Now I noticed that there is a different track listing on the site and it's kinda confusing.So here's my take on his debut album and check out the track listing at the bottom.Budden is a lyricist to the bone and knows how an album needs the mix to show how much fun we can have and how much retrospection we can place in all our songs. He does get freaky with his last bonus track "Porno Star" but his other bonus track give you a real look into the difference of hip hop life and reality with "Real Life in Rap".If you think Diddy or Kanye were some straight samplers, try White Boy, the key producer for this album. However still Joe can flow over almost anything, can't he?He really takes the time to look back at the struggles he's faced: living without a father, his former crack addiction, baby mama drama on his longest track "10 Mins."My favorite, however, is always gonna be "Focus" because he is completely focused on the spit he throws down. I remember when it was featured on either NBA Live or Madden but I picked up the album before either of those games came out.But listen to this man's lyrics and let everyone at Def Poetry know get this man back in the studio it's taking too damn long to get a man that's ready to bare all not to have his next studio album out by now.This is an album to pick up.
