Now I Know I'm Too Old ...

Posted over 5 years ago
Second Post: I've been around for a long time ... much longer then probably 90% of you "moggers" and I finally feel "really" old. While reading some of the blogs ... I realized that half the music you are listening to I have never heard of ... and worse yet ... could care less. Do I dare say this ... I'll be brave ... I never thought I would like rap or hip-hop ... but some of it I do ... I like the beats ... to me ... it's dance music. The point is I never thought I would ... but I do. But ... I guess I have no interest in the "new" stuff anymore ... maybe it has to be mainstream or something ... I lisen to rock stations ... the only names I recognize are maybe on MTV ... Panic at the Disco (not interested) ... the Killers (not interested) and so on ... but that doesn't mean they are bad.I know everyone has a right to their opinion ... but ... dare I say ... it's a matter of taste. Someone said they hated U2 ... well I haven't cared for them for probably the last 10 years or so ... but back in the 80's and early 90's they had some awesome music ... but I still wouldn't say that they SUCK. I'm a rock kinda gal ... rock ... hard rock ... heavy ... whatever! I guess I'm what they call "old school" ... I think that just means your "old" ... although a lot of young people like the music from my generation ... as I do from theirs. Two words could sum me up ... Led Zeppelin ... but then there is Cream ... Jimi ... and oh ya ... one of my favs The Cult. So the point is ... I'm way too old to keep up with the "new music" anymore.P.S. I do have to agree with several bloggers (moggers) Nickelback sucks!

  2. B42 says "I’m way too old to keep up with the “new music” anymore." I felt this way for awhile but it turned around on me some years ago and what was old is new again and what's new is good and refreshing, though it takes a bit of culling to "get it".

  3. slantera says You are only as old as you make yourself to be. You're never too old. Albeit I was only 5....6 years old, I heard Zep, the Who, the Police and various artists from the 60's and 70's. How do I remember? Jjust ask my brain, 'cause people don't believe me when I say that I can remember things from that age (or even earlier). When I was just 'old' enough to choose what I liked to listen to, not what people think I should like, Led Zep was the first band I started listening to. It eventually lead to heavier, faster & angrier music. I'm 32 and I still listen to this. I've been listening to some of the bands from my list since high school. The only difference is, I more open minded to other music.

  6. joseexist says If it were not for all the neat new gadgets from the digital revolution, I'd still be putting songs on cassette live in a garage. Thanks to technology I record digitally and put out cdr. My last few plates of vynl are still collecting dust in a back room somewhere but my cd collection is growing every day.
