Night Trippin'

This 1969 album is every bit as psychedelic as the cover implies... Mac's weaselly voice sneaking and scratching around twisty congas, Hammond B3 and a voodoo chorus.A dip from another world.

  1. Spike says Thanks for sharing that. I'll check it out. It's interesting that New Orleans could suddenly stop having top-ten hits in the mid- to late-sixties, and only acts like Dr. John or the Meters later filled the gap, sort of.

  3. deadmandeadman says Yes indeed. There is also THE SUN MOON & HERB. The gumbo ain't quite as thick n gooey but its still rich n satisfyin'. Clapton shows up for a cameo an' burns some licks, but its clearly the Doctor who stirrin' the pot.
