I've no idea how to pronounce that, but it's apparently Finnish for "Happy Birthday".

This dedication goes out to Pekka, our resident philosophy professor and expert in all things "sonic yum-yum".

People may call me EMCD, but this guy's been stuffing my hard drive full of goodness since the word "go" around here. Recently, his posted list of Top 30 albums of 2007 led me to finally check out Les Savy Fav, and what joy that was!

Here, have a taste of "Patty Lee" from their most recent album Let's Stay Friends:

Cheers, Pekka! Since you're in England with Anna (SO jel) I can safely assume you're having a great birthday.

Hey, hey ;) Moi, moi Dale [pronounce "moy, moy" as in "Hi" in Finnish]

Happy Birthday "Minun Kaveri" [minoon kavverri]

Kiitos paljon, Sunny ;) (once I could have almost spoken some more silly Finnish but I've forgotten almost almost all of the very little "Suomi" I knew)

Happy Bday Pekka... sorry I couldn't be in London to celebrate with you.

And judging by the text I got from Anna at 1 am, claiming she was "veqy drunk" [sic] a good time was had in my absence.

We showed the Finnish man a good time [I think...]!

And to shake your head even sadder, allow me to add that I told Joxy "I wish you werere here".

Thanks so much, Dale (and everyone else)! Good times were had, in concerts (two short posts to come about that while I'm still bleary-eyed and jet-lagged enough not to start clearing the accumulated work), museums, and with other moggers at another fabulous and drunken MOG meet.
