I've got a bazillion things to do with the family today, so this will be brief.Let me, once again, invite all to submit your lists of the top 10 albums of Jan-Jun 2007 to the "+MOG Best of 2007 So Far+":http://mog.com/Dale/blog_post/91726. As always, please post your lists on that post, bot this one. That way, MOG users can have a "one-stop shop" for everyone's lists. Now, my number 7 so far:
*Cinematics - A Strange Education*This is the only member of my Top 10 that I have had the pleasure of seeing live, aside from a disastrous two-song set by NIN @ Lollapalooza. That's a story for another day, though. At first blush, their music sounds uncannily like Editors or Interpol or any of a hundred neo-post-punk bands that have cropped up in Interpol's wake. Listen again, though, and lead singer Scott Rinning's vocals start to shine through, and the energy the band expends in their music becomes palpable. This becomes especially true in the live setting.+"I saw Cinematics as the opening band for Mute Math (good show) and Someone Loves You Boris Yeltsin (*yawn*).+":http://mog.com/Dale/blog_post/63331 Although their set was far too short, Scott's voice made the show for me; he poured his whole soul into each song, and mesmerized me, and the few people who came early to see them. I can't wait for them to get another album's worth of material, and start some headlining shows.Cheers to SA for being the first to clue MOG in, and to Anna specifically for tipping me off to this amazing new band.Ah yes, a taster:*Keep Forgetting*
