WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Windy & Cold Day? Huh?

Posted over 3 years ago
There's not a trace of snow on the ground, it's 20 degrees here, and the schools are all closed. Unbelievable. In Colorado, we'd have to get at least 2 feet of accumulation for the schools to close, and even then, I'd still have to go to the office.OK, I checked the local weather, and we are supposed to get maybe an inch of snow. Whoop de doo. So now I get to work while the boys maybe go sledding with their cousins. And on that note, a video for your enjoyment: My favorite song by Snow Patrol.

  2. angeldawn says No school here in KC as well. Just a trace of snow so far but it's on top of some fierce ice. Working from home and snuggling on the couch. Wanna bet whether I'll actually make it out of my pjs today? It's heading east so get ready.

  3. chucky says Heh heh. It's about 60 degrees outside and it's expected to get to 65 or so by afternoon. I feel for you. Although, I'm sure the cold is on its way here. Tell you what - I'll go stand in the sun for you. In the meantime, put the childrens to work. You won't even notice they're there and when you finally look up from the screen the house will be clean. Yay! (That's what I would do anyway.)

  4. berrycherry says I wish I could get a day off because there was a "chance" of snow!

  5. Lyla says it's warm here, too - pisses me off that i'm going to have to go up to FREEZING COLD pennsylvania tonight. but where ARE you? it sounds like a place that's that cold should be pretty far north, so they should be used to the snow. i know that here, we freak out when there's even a centimeter, but we're beach people, and snow is creepy. flip-flops!

  6. Lowdown says I live in Michigan and we scoff at the snow/cold. When I lived in Nashville, they got 2" of snow and people actually abandoned their cars, left them in the turning lanes, and walked home. I went to a gas station and the lady there said "I can't believe y'all are out in this blizzard." I wasn't even snowing!

  7. gympumpkin says Wow. Here there has to be at least 6 inches of new snow before schools close (provided there wasn't some sort of damage or heating problem at the school), and that's provided the snow all fell overnight and hadn't been cleared on the main streets before rush hour. And even then many schools are still open. I'm supposed to go to the Bob Seger concert tonight, but the weatherman is predicting rain and sleet and snow throughout the day, and the concert is kind of far away, so I'm wary about going. I'll see how the roads are closer to the show time. It's a good 45 minute drive from my house in good conditions without traffic, so if it's snowing at 5:00 when I have to pick Tim up from work, we probably will be late. Heck, I'd be late picking him up in snow.

  8. Dale says Everything I was complaining about above? Forget it. I just took the boys to their aunt and uncle to go sledding, and slipped and slid the whole way home. Then I remembered that the road from Wichita to Goddard, where the boys go to school is ttreacherous (that's right, with two T's) in these conditions. So, yeah, I'm staying in.

  11. deusdiabolus says I slept through most of the morning, and I woke up on the couch when my partner came home to get something at noon. He mentioned something about it being treacherous outside, and I assumed he meant it was a little more icy than last night. I get up and peek outside after he's gone, and OMGWTFSN03Z?!?!?!?

  12. lemontwist says I swear it was at least 60 oF outside in Burlington today. But right now my hotel is making up for it. It's freezing and I can't figure out how to turn off the AC. And I'm too stubborn to call the front desk to ask how. :|

  16. rei says It's 78 degrees in Tampa, Florida at this very moment. In ??December??. Can I trade locations with you? The home insurance is sky-high, the homes overpriced and falling apart [or dropping into post-swampland sinkholes the size of school buses], and traffic congestion is the second highest in Florida. It's like Disneyland minus the fun and entertainment! Did I mention the high humidity? No need for bathing, since you'll get a nice moist bath the moment you step out your front door! Maybe I missed my calling as a realtor....
