So, I was minding my own business in the grocery store this afternoon. I had just finished an especially vigorous workout at the gym and was still coming down from that, and had left the iPod running, the better the keep enjoying the music.
Then ... what is the leaky discharge coming from my eyes? Why am I thisclose to blubbering over the canned goods and produce?
I blame the iPod; it's occasionally perverse and sentimental, much like its owner.
But seriously, only the most callous would not feel a bit of a swoon coming on when faced with this bridge:
You should have asked me for it
I would have been brave
you should have asked me for it
how could I say no?
and our love could have soared
over playgrounds and rooftops
every park bench screams your name
I kept your tie
I'd have gone wherever you wanted
And then to get hit again with this piece of ear candy on top of that ... that's just mean.
Then we watch TV
till we fall asleep
not very exciting
but it's you and me
and we'll always be together
you and me always and forever
Leave me alone, it's just really dusty in here ... :P

ha, nice dale. Moments like those are great, just last night I was transported back to high school when at cub foods getting groceries. The songs that came on, well lets just say I was singing everyone.
1. spice girls - wanna be
2. lemonheads - shame about ray
3. erasure - chorus
4. lightning seeds - pure
5. buffalo tom - soda jerk
Wannabe? Really?!? Otherwise, that's a darn fine list, even though I was married by the time all of those songs came out. ::grumble::
come on, I thought I would hate the spice girls by now but it seems that song is stuck in my brain..........and it wasnt that bad
I understand what you're saying Dale, it happened recently to me as well which I just chronicled this evening too here:

I hate it when music makes me sentimental- BAH!
I cried both yesterday and today to Glasvegas' A Snowflake Fell (And It Felt Like A Kiss)...............

Nice to meet a fellow chocolate coated marshmallow.
August, isn't is awful when you realize you're not as macho as you hope to be? It is for me, at least. ;)
Aww, noise-pop makes Anna cry. Quel surprise. :*
Yup, you got me Annie, I'm just a big softie. Now the thrill of meeting me and finding out what I'm really like is gone. ::sigh::
aw. ):
if you're up for a horrible confession, i caught the Hairspray remake on HBO and thought, well, okay, i had to see what they did to a John Waters original. in the first five minutes, as this new Tracy Turnblad walked around the '60s movie set to the tune of Good Morning, Baltimore, i got teary eyed. i don't know why!! (seriously, this confession has no explanation. it's just bizarre.)
It's a good thing Ilay, it just means we're not completely jaded yet. ;)
I saw that "sniff" and worried that you might have succumbed to a bad habit, Dale. And I was right! Sentiment! (You are not alone. I can't tell you how many movie dramas register two or three tears on the Knife Cry-o-meter. And don't play Elton John's "Tiny Dancer" when I'm in the room. I'm just sayin'...)
Agree, it's a cracking song... albeit about a schoolboy with a crush on another schoolboy. Come 'fess up, tell us the whole story. ;)
You know, I realized that, but it still doesn't deter me. Universally applicable sentiments nonetheless.
I could go on a rant at this point, but I'll desist.
Aw.
