Halloween 2010 - the mix in in!

Posted over 1 year ago

Those of you that know me well know how much I dig Halloween. Having a legitimite reason to run around scaring people, wearing weird costumes, and getting candy for it ... that's just made of WIN! Throw in a penchant for music that lives its life in black, and it's a recipe for much mix-making.

A good Halloween mix, in my estimation, requires three things: the bleeps, the sweeps, and the creeps. Here, let the guy that does all the voices explain:

Beware, this one gets heavy in the beginning, lightens up in the middle, and gets chilly near the end. See for yourself:

If you prefer the MOG playlist, I have posted it right here.

I admit it, I'm a tad depressed; the only two people to comment found this post from Facebook. :/

Our Halloween shindigs at church and school is tonight, so the kids are all costumed out and ready for it. Camera is charged, candy has been purchased, it should be a great time.

Not sure how much we'll actually do on Sunday, though; if I have my way, we'll get all the fun out tonight and tomorrow, but I have a sneaking suspicion that Melissa will cave and let the boys trick-or-treat.

Anyway, thanks for dropping in guys. :)

Excellent! Love the Nick Cave song. I know some of the artists but not the songs, so I'll be checking those out. :)

My Halloween mix is just an expanded one of last year's, which I posted on Facebook. Bauhaus & Ministry, Cure & Crüe. :)

    TEH SAMMEH!!!

I got a little bit wistful while making this because it was the Friday before Monolith 2008 when Erin turned me on to March Violets, at the pre-concert party.

Good times, that. Goooooooood times. :)

I found the post here and then saw it on Facebook, honest!

I was looking forward to treat the kiddies, but I had to leave early for a Black Keys show, and the only people I had the chance to give candy to where 3 17 year old girls dressed as cowgirls. Booooo!

Yes, but you had the Black Keys to console you.

This Halloween was a bit uneventful, not sure why. I'm sure there was some combination of it being Sunday, the Texas Rangers playing in the World Series, or some other unknown phenomenon, but the house offering candy to trick-or-treat'ers were few and far between. Oh, we got our candy, but not the heaping mounds of previous years.
