Still got that radio show, wanna listen?

Posted over 1 year ago

Yes, I still have the DJ gig at work. I wish I could tell you that I'm amassing a huge following, but that would be a lie. The audience has been steady at least, usually 4 or 5 listeners. Still, in a company of about 3,000, with most of them here in San Antonio, I'd sure like to have more.

I send out e-mails every Thursday morning hours before I start my shift, so people have a chance to know what I'll be playing. There's usually some kind of picture in there to capture the eye, and I think it's helping at least get mindshare among my co-workers, if not more listeners. This past week's was particularly memorable, a lovely shot of the man Mark E. Smith:

The money quote was from my boss: "If you EVER send me anything that ugly again, I will throw something at you!" Well then. At least I'm getting their attention.

These part two shows, I've been playing history professor. For the 23rd, I got completely indulgent and did a whole show of shoegaze past, present and future.

This week, I decided it would be fun to do four-song sets devoted to one band. I thought it would give people a chance to get familiar with bands that they may have heard of, but never really heard. And NO!!! I did not do My Bloody Valentine!
