It is now my sworn duty to find a club here in San Antonio, where I may dance to this kind of song. This has been my favorite track of the year, and with good reason, as you may both see and hear.

Is it their time machine that allows one to transport 26 years back to the future? Fun little tune though..maybe it's the look and sound of the female vocalist?
I dunno, but the singer's apparently all-in with her 80's obsession. Head shaved on one side, big boxy shoulders. And the girl playing keys (occasionally) could be straight from the Addicted to Love video, with hair down.
Agreed, one of my tunes of the year too - and it's great live too. I think she's fascinating...
I dunno why they have that stupid man in the band..and where's his skinny tie? He's a thin tie away from looking like Robert Palmer...although much cuter.
I marvel at all these bands that take the 80's so seriously..They help rehabilitate the 80's for me..I was less impressed when it was happening the first time around.
As you may well guess, I was no big fan of the day-glo side of the 80's either, so it's a bit of a surprise that this works so well for me.
Time can be a healer..BTW-A few of your hardcore band selections weren't in MOG All Access..what's up with that..No Big Black or Minor Threat. DIY til death I guess.
Really?!? Wow, that's a shame.
80's music? gag me with a smurf!
Careful Jeff, your generational bias is showing. ;)
Here is "The Bomb" from 2007 (black to blonde):
Know it, love it, one of my fave tracks from Fantastic Playroom.
videos of human females and their accomplices may yet undo the evil that video wrought on the radio star. find that club and ride that pony!
I can see you dancing already! Find the club.
AARRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!
I somehow didn't get taken with this band when you promoted them before, but I am ready now :)
It's cool how recent bands do the 80s better than most bands did in the 80s...I like M83 and La Roux.
I understand that; I think this album from NYPC has a bit more substance, for lack of a better term, than Fantastic Playroom. And while I love M83, La Roux didn't quite do it for me. Go figure. ::shrug::
